On a Friday night there are many great food and drink combinations – fish (or tofush!) and chips, G&T and my personal favourite, tequila and lime. The margarita cocktail combines tequila and lime with a little sweetness to produce a zesty, punchy cocktail that really gets a Friday night started. My other half is fantastic at making cocktails and this is one of our favourites. So on a Friday night you can often find me cooking up Friday night dinner while he is squeezing limes, muddling mint and shaking up a cocktail.
To get your Friday night really going, why not continue the Mexican theme with some tortilla chips topped with vegan guacamole and salsa! Go all out and get your sombreros on and really get in the party spirit!
To serve this cocktail, you need two cocktail glasses. To make it look extra special, sugar the rim. To do this, pour caster sugar onto a plate, wet the rim of the glass and then dip in the sugar. We also like to add a zesty lime twirl onto the rim of the glass.
- 3 tbsp (45ml) Agave syrup
- 8 tbsp (120ml) Tequila
- 4 tbsp (60ml) Lime Juice, freshly squeezed
- Add all ingredients into cocktail shaker.
- Add a few cubes of ice into the cocktail shaker.
- Shake for 10 seconds.
- Strain into sugar-rimmed glass.
Serve and enjoy your Friday night!
